5) Carefully integrate the affiliation links into your pages
6) Study your statistics
7) Vary the types of links that you place on your pages
8) Place a link to an affiliator in a signature at the end of your emails.
1) Don't put too many ads on your site !The logic that dictates the equation "More publicity = More revenue" is not always logical. In fact, once you exceed a certain amount of publicity on your site, the equation becomes false for two reasons :
- your visitors will feel uncomfortable, as if they're being assaulted by ads and they'll go visit your competitors' sites rather than your own. You will therefore have fewer visitors and it goes without saying that fewer visitors equal less revenue.
- those visitors who continue to visit your site will develop a mental block with regards to the ads: they will get used to them and will no longer see them, considering them to be a nuisance because "Too much publicity kills publicity"'
2) Avoid registering with too many management companies, affiliation platforms and independent affiliation programmes. In fact, for each publicity management company, affiliation platform or independent affiliation programme to which you subscribe, you will have to wait until your earnings reach a certain threshold before being remunerated. Just as it is not in your best interest to place too many ads on your pages (see above), it's better to avoid too many registrations because in the end, you risk not earning anything at all!
3) It's logical, but it's still important not to forget it; it's essential that you choose affiliators whose themes closely resemble your own, even if the resemblance is only a partial one.Your visitors visit your site to get information on a specific theme, not on another one!
4) Position your links strategically : visitors are more likely to click on a banner that's placed at the top of the page as opposed to one that's positioned at the bottom. It's also true that a link that's placed discreetly in the middle of a long text is less visible than a link that's located off to the side, at the beginning or end of a text.
5) Generally speaking, it is essential to carefully integrate the affiliation links into your pages. It seems obvious, but it's still important to remember it; if you're talking about a book, don't put a link for buying DVDs on the same page! A link will be clicked on more often if it actually corresponds to your site content. Affiliation then, really allows you to provide additional content and a real additional service to your visitors.
6) In your Affiliate Space, we supply you with very precise statistics on the activity generated by your affiliate site, the information is general, but it is also given for each programme and each link: take advantage of it! Studying your statistics can allow you to see which programmes bring in the most revenue for you and which links attract the highest number of visitors. This allows you to distinguish quite easily which programmes and which type(s) of link(s) are best for you to feature on your pages so as to optimize your earnings.
7) Vary the types of links that you place on your pages. Numerous types of links are available to you for each programme: numerous buttons and banners, textual links, search engines' In fact, the effectiveness of the classic publicity banner is starting to wane. But, affiliation provides an excellent solution to that very problem by supplying you with different types of links that, in addition to providing diverse forms of publicity, facilitate the integration of affiliation into your pages and provides new functionalities for your visitors. Affiliation then, goes a lot further than a simple publicity banner that pays on a per-click basis. For a video game site, for example, it's possible for visitors to buy, with one simple click, the game for which they are reading a review. This constitutes a real value added service that can only satisfy visitors and increase traffic on the affiliated site.
8) It's possible to insert textual links (except, of course, for the programmes that pay on a per-click basis) : don't hesitate to place a signature with a link to an affiliator at the end of your emails. In this way, if the person who reads your message clicks on the link and makes a purchase on the affiliator's site, you will get a commission. You can also place this type of link in your newsletters. But be careful, spam (sending non solicited messages) is prohibited! If we become aware that you are using such methods, we are within our rights to breach your contract with Effiliation.
